Construction Products Association Launches Innovation And Achievement 2009

Posted 26-Aug-2009

SeceuroVision 7501 delivers up to 25% vision, providing a solution to meet the demands of both security and product display

SWS UK has been recognised for its innovative SeceuroVision 7501, in the Construction Products Association’s 2009 online edition of Construction Products Innovation and Achievement (CPIA).

The SeceuroVision 7501 achievement in the category of health, safety and security, is one of only 11 products nationwide, to be chosen for this year’s website version, which annually showcases the most innovative products and processes created by the construction products industry during the previous twelve months.

Commenting on the achievement, Adrian Barden, Chairman of the Construction Products Association said: “The construction products industry has proved once again, its enormous ability to lead, by devising new, more efficient, more sustainable ways of doing things. As you will see from the range of products and processes in this online publication, the creative and innovative approach is not confined just to a select few, in one or two sectors, but can be seen as a key driver for an industry that is continuously improving and constantly changing.”

The SeceuroVision 7501 is the first and only vision shutter to be tested by the LPCB to LPS 1175-1 and approved to Police and insurance standards, achieving ACPO’s prestigious Secured by Design status.

Andrew Dootson SWS UK’s Managing Director added, “We are very pleased to have been chosen for this year’s CPIA online publication. Our product will bring enormous benefits to the construction industry. Business crime has risen 20% since 2004. The most targeted areas are industrial estates and shopping parades where more than 70% of businesses have experienced crime in the last 12 months. Government community safety guidelines restrict the use of shutters as a security method and often the use of solid shutters is not allowed. The SeceuroVision 7501 offers a comprehensive solution to a number of criteria. It provides effective protection for businesses by offering the highest level of security whilst also complying with Government regulations. The result is a secure yet open and welcoming urban environment which maximises the potential for window shopping. It is very important that our industry recognises and showcases innovation and we are grateful that CPIA 2009 does this.”

The products featured in the online publication cover a wide range and include processes designed to save energy and reduce emissions, provide health and safety guidance for employees and contractors and provide a full sustainability appraisal of manufacturing operations. The 2009 online version of Construction Products Innovation and Achievement can be found on the CPA website at http://www.constructionproducts.org.uk/publications/Page.aspx?Id=430.
