QSec were contacted by the owner of Triangle a Triathlon Shop based in Leeds. They were relocating to a new larger Shop premises in Guiseley. Guiseley is a small village located just on the outskirts of Leeds on the edge of the Yorkshire dales and moors. Ideal for outdoor pursuits such as running and cycling, both are Triathlon disciplines.
The new shop in question is double fronted with two large windows and the entrance door in the centre. The owner was keen to utilise the large windows for displaying the products for sale in the shop, most of which are high value such as bicycles and wet suits. Although these items are in full view during the day, when the shop is open, the owner also wanted the display to be seen at night when the shop was closed.
What was needed was a security product that provided a high level of through vision with some level of security. The customer felt that the Seceuroguard 1000 retractable security gates would meet his needs for the windows. It was suggested to have them installed internally as this added an extra level of security, and due to the shops location (close to the rather damp Yorkshire Dales) meant that they were also protected from the elements as well.
As the shops door opened inwards and no other access was available into the shop a manually operated roller shutter was used to secure the door. To provide a lower visual impact a perforated curtain on the shutter was used which also allows some further vision into the shop at night.
With the grille closed and the roller shutter in the down position the overall appearance of the shop frontage is very aesthetically pleasing offering a good level of security with very little visual impact.
